THE POWER OF FIBERSPARK
Frequently Asked Questions
01
What makes Fiberspark better than the alternatives?
Most "high-speed" providers still use aging copper wires for the last-mile to and within your home, which can cause lag and evening slowdowns. Fiberspark is 100% fiber-to-the-home.
This means:
• Symmetrical Speeds: Your upload speeds are just as fast as your downloads—perfect for video calls and gaming.
• Lower Latency: No more "lag" during peak hours.
• Reliability: Fiber is immune to many of the issues with old copper lines.

02
Is installation included? How about a router?
Yes, we include professional installation at no additional cost for any home in our service area. For Wi-Fi, you are welcome to use your own router (Wi-Fi 6 or 7 models recommended), and save yourself $5.00/mo. That said, we recommend going with ours as it makes troubleshooting simpler should the need ever arise.

07
What is fiber optic internet?
Fiber optic internet is a broadband technology that transmits data as pulses of light through thin strands of glass. Because light is immune to electrical interference and travels with very little signal loss, fiber delivers significantly higher speeds and more reliable performance than traditional copper-based internet connections like cable and DSL.
08
What does “symmetrical speed” mean?
Symmetrical speed means your upload and download speeds are equal. This is especially important for modern internet use, such as video conferencing, cloud backups, and uploading large files, where upload speed plays a major role.
09
Is fiber internet really faster?
Yes. Fiber can deliver speeds up to 5 Gbps (gigabit) or higher, and unlike cable, those speeds are consistent in both directions. This makes a noticeable difference for streaming, gaming, and multi-user households.
10
How does fiber handle multiple devices?
Fiber is ideal for households with many connected devices. Whether you have multiple people streaming, gaming, and working at the same time, fiber (with the proper router) can handle the load without significant slowdowns, thanks to its high bandwidth.
11
What is an open-access fiber network?
An open-access network is a system where one organization builds and maintains the fiber infrastructure, while multiple internet service providers use that infrastructure to deliver service. This can increase competition and give customers more choices.
12
Why is fiber considered "future-proof"?
Fiber cables can handle extremely high data capacities, meaning upgrades usually involve improving equipment rather than replacing the cables themselves.
13
What speed do I need?
It depends on usage, but most households benefit from 300 Mbps to 1 Gbps. Fiber is also designed to support many devices simultaneously without major slowdowns.
14
Is upgrading to fiber worth it?
For most users, yes. Fiber offers faster speeds, better reliability, and improved performance for modern internet needs, making it a strong long-term investment.
15
Why isn’t fiber available everywhere?
Fiber requires significant infrastructure investment and construction, so providers expand gradually based on demand and feasibility.
16
Can I request fiber in my neighborhood?
Yes, many providers allow you to register interest, which can influence future expansion decisions.
